apparently success at NU is not impossible

Walker, who has moved into second place on Northwestern's all-time wins list (37), is the first Northwestern coach to guide three different teams to the postseason. In addition, he is the first Northwestern coach to direct three straight teams to four or more Big Ten wins.

you see that billy? it is very doable to win some games at the conference level even with a bunch of (presumably) smart kids.

OSM

"Northwestern wins!!"

i can guarantee that will be the only time we hear the esteemed verne lundquist say those words on CBS in march. i don't expect us to stay out of the tournament forever, but it will be long after verne (and probably myself) is eaten by worms.

on another note, why did they keep calling it "Northwestern" during the game? would you ever hear an announcer leave off the State and just say Michigan? or skip the A&M and just say Texas? you would think that will all the NU alums working in the sports media world they would get this straightened out.
