my latest email from NU encourages me to "Experience the Character of Wildcat Big Ten Basketball." not the excitement, not the thrill, not even the star power of the other teams' coaches and players, but the Character. i guess that's what you do when facing the prospect of an 0-fer conference season. you stress that your players are polite gentlemen and that the program has never been connected to any scandalous behavior like point-shaving or anything like that. oh, wait...

No, i'm not impressed

NU picks up their first win by 10 over Savannah State. they were down at halftime, and they got out-rebounded 37-15. not like the Tigers have a big man either - their center is 6' 8". keep in mind SSU went 0-28 in the 04/05 season. when you're playing at home against a team like that, you shouldn't have to play four starters 35 minutes or more.
