Fired Bill Carmody: Oh. My. God.

Oh. My. God.

no other way to say this: last night Northwestern lost at home to Robert Morris, an NAIA school. Shurna was the highlight, with 15 & 10 in 30 minutes, but the freshman big men didn't fare so well.

it's obviously not a good night when the team shoots 22/72 and 5/22 from 3PT. and this team will not win many games when Michael Thompson takes the second-most shots (13). yes, i know RMC is led by 6'8" IU transfer DeAndre Thomas. but last season this guy averaged almost as many fouls per game as he did points (3.6) so let's not kid ourselves that this was top-notch competition.

i realize this was an exhibition game and doesn't count as a real loss, and i'm not going to write off the entire season because of one game. but seeing that Kyle Rowley played only 6 minutes tells me that his conditioning isn't good or he's not ready yet. so for all those pre-season articles that said "NU is bigger so they'll be better..." uhh, we'll have to wait and see.

This is, even for us, a new low. The fact is, Bill Carmody isn't just a bad coach, he's an anti-coach. Here's what I mean:

NU basketball recruits 2- and 3-star high school athletes. Not enough to compete with top programs in the Big 10, but no schlubs either, at least not when they first come to Evanston. Robert Morris isn't even an NCAA school. They don't even have a page on rivals.com so I couldn't tell you what types of athletes they recruit. The fact is, if you took any five 2-star players and put them on the floor against Robert Morris, without a single day of coaching, those 2-star players would clean up on instinct and ability alone. Bill Carmody has been proactively making his players WORSE ever since he came to NU. His game plan is and has always been retarded and he is too stubborn to make any adjustments based on the varying talents of each individual player.

Fire this man! Out!

Northwestern has a basketball team? Who knew? And they lost to a guy named Robert Morris? How did he inbound the ball to himself?

Look on the bright side, if we keep losing to teams like Robert Morris, Bill Carmody will get fired sooner than later. The more we lose the sooner he's gone!
