Here comes the sea of red, Part II
watch out! another fan advisory!! pretty unprecedented that a team this bad can issue two "long line warnings" in the same season.
back in the Ricky Byrdsong/Kevin O'Neill era they did senior day celebrations after the game; good choice to do it before the game tomorrow, since it might not be as fun after we get rolled by the Badgers. although, does the current senior class even warrant a ceremony? five bucks to the first reader who can correctly name the senior(s) on this year's team without clicking on this link.

A couple of money quotes from a column on the game in this morning's Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
Just as you wouldn't go to a Motörhead show to get a Mantovani fix, you don't necessarily go to Welsh-Ryan Arena for a championship celebration.
The primary tenants of this charming old barn, the Northwestern Wildcats, have never even made the NCAA tournament in 103 years of basketball, which has to be some kind of record.
But why not here, where a winter's omnipresent snow fell on seldom-seen scalpers, where elated Wisconsin fans were mostly responsible for filling the building with a coat of red and treating it like Miller Park for a Brewers-Cubs game?
[snip]
"To see as many fans as we had here, it was almost like a home game," said senior Brian Butch, with his 20 points and 14 rebounds. , said. "To be able to celebrate an outright championship with them like this is pretty cool."
Henry Bienen must be so proud of this program.
I don't understand why Comedy gets such a free pass. Eight years of this? It's sad because March is just a depressing time of year. We haven't even sniffed the bubble. He has to go. Maybe we can get Wilbon & Mandel and other prominent alums to write about what a terrible job he has done to get him out of here. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he is finishing last. I was almost disappointed that we did win a game!! Please get him out of here. I can't take our team anymore!!
