Fired Bill Carmody: Coble hurt - now what?

Coble hurt - now what?

remember all those good vibes and positive stories about the upcoming Northwestern basketball season? well, so much for that. because what else is the internet for besides rampant, unsubstantiated speculation, it looks like Kevin Coble may be out for 4-6 weeks. if it's true, an injury that significant also raises some questions in my mind about his effectiveness even after he returns, but i guess we'll worry about all of that later. for now, it just sucks.

why does it suck? you're going to blame every loss on carmody anyway, and this'll give you more ammo to demand he gets fired.

Actually, the reason it sucks is because it gives Carmody and his ever-shrinking band of apologists a built-in excuse for another crappy season. "We would have been really good, except Coble got hurt, so we need to keep Carmody around." That is exactly what we will hear when we finish another 12-win season. No matter that even had Coble been healthy, we'd have been hard pressed to exceed 18 wins.

Buckyor my man, bra-fucking-vo. You must have a non-CAS (or whatever the fuck they call it now) degree from NU because you got right to the worst fucking part of the Coble injury. Now the excuse is tailor fucking made for Carshitty to use when he aborts another season for NU. “We didn’t have Coble.” Ugh. Just fucking kill me. Seriously.

You know who else we don’t have? Evan Eschmeyer, Greg Oden, or Evan fucking Turner (and for the record, AC thinks that Turner kid can really fucking play). Look, Carshitty has always been just one or two players away from success, the problem is those one or two players are Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant.

No one is happy that Coble is hurt. The guy has played well for three years (and at the exact same level for three years too) and if this truly is Carshitty’s best team ever (which again, is like something being the least virulent strain of herpes, like maybe a treatable herpes zoster as opposed to the long lasting herpes simplex virus 2, not that I would know) then it would have been nice to see what this brilliant logician who perfected the offensive strategy of playing against two separate and unrelated defenders (the opponent and the 35 second shot clock) would have done.

But now NU basketball fans are in an untenable/unwinnable situation. Car-no-win-dy can just cry about losing Coble when he goes 3-17 in the Big Ten as opposed to his normal 5 and 15 or perhaps 6 and 14 with his best team ever. And if people are going to use that excuse, then they also have to man up and take out NU’s two wins from last year against Indiana as Indiana was playing without all five of their “Kevin Coble” type fucking players (probabtion my friends, probation).

Ugh. I just hope Jim Phillips doesn’t fall for this fucking bs and judges Carshitty on the team’s actual performance or THE NINE FUCKING PREVIOUS YEARS of Car-no-win-dy’s shit awful performance where he has seemingly shot his own personal scat film at NU by shitting all over the proverbial bed (and he has sucked so bad, he also shit inside the pillow cases).

Fuck Carmody.

Wait a minute, AC, what's with the CAS hate? I grant you that all CAS degrees (save two - Econ and Math) are worthless. But don't you have an Econ degree (according to your bio on that gambling site)?

Yeah, well, I have an econ degree too, and may be an idiot as a result, but I do know failure when I see it (yeah, I know the joke that I just set up, so all you tittering Carmody apologists can spare us).
